"It was my first lesson, I dreamed of trying it for a long time, I got a lot of pleasure. I thought that I wouldn’t even be able to get up in one lesson, but I managed and even rolled almost to the shore a couple of times, just super! We were taken to the beach for beginners, excellent instructor Ansa, great waves and no injuries)))"

"I had an excellent and very affordable stay in the star rest surf camp . The location is great and I felt at home there. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, great AC! The breakfast is great and all the staff, were kind and helpful. I also took surf lessons from Ansa which were professional and amazing value. 10/10 would stay again!"

"An unforgettable surf experience with Ansa! I had an amazing time learning to surf with Ansa at star rest surf camp. He’s an incredibly patient and knowledgeable instructor who made sure I felt safe and confident in the water. His step-by-step guidance, encouragement, and local knowledge helped me catch my first real wave! The atmosphere at the surf school is super friendly and relaxed, and the beach is perfect for beginners. I highly recommend Ansa and this surf centre to anyone visiting Arugam Bay. "I recently completed a block of 14 surf lessons with Ansa at star rest surf camp and had an amazing time! The progress made from lesson 1 to lesson 14 over the course of 9 days really helped to boost my confidence and Ansa was great at answering all of my questions. When the surfing spots were a little crowded, he would ensure I took a wave only when it was safe to do so which made me feel a lot more comfortable on the board! I also booked to do yoga sessions with melin every day which was a great way to start each day and warm my body up for the surf lessons. meli would give me helpful feedback in order to improve my form which I really appreciated and will continue to practice in the future!"

"We had a fantastic time and stay here. I was a beginner and my partner intermediate, the coaches were great and took us to the best points that were best suited for our abilities. Big thanks to Ansa and Fin for their coaching and advice. I was able to ride waves on my second session!! We booked an air conditioned villa which was very nice. The garden is very beautiful with palm trees and hammocks too. It’s in the heart of the town centre and a great place to wander around after your surf sessions and do some shopping/grab food etc Highly recommend!!"
